Minors

Unaccompanied Minors Action Committee’s Mission: Given the humanitarian crisis at the U.S. border, where there are over 52,000 refugee children fleeing from extreme, traumatic violence in their home countries, the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association (“DHBA”) created the Unaccompanied Minors Action Committee in mid-June 2014 in an effort to address this crisis which is of particular relevance to our members as residents of the DFW metroplex, Hispanic attorneys and concerned citizens. As an organization committed to promoting a legal system that is more accessible to the Hispanic community, the DHBA is seeking volunteers to represent these refugee children in removal proceedings, as well as assist in other efforts to ensure that these children are treated fairly throughout the legal process.
